About the event
New Cooker registration begins online on April 3rd 9 AM - This is a first come, first serve process online only for available primary cooker sites.

49th Annual World Championship BBQ Goat Cook Off - September 2nd 2023
We’re excited for the 49th Annual World Championship Barbeque Goat Cookoff to be held Saturday, September 2nd, at Richards Park in Brady, Texas.
This year’s COOKING portion of the event is ONE DAY. Don’t worry, though, we still have a full schedule lined up for Saturday! Please read the full details and rules below before registering for your returning spots.
RIBS MUST BE PORK SPARE RIBS AND PROVIDED BY COOKERS. ALL PAST WINNERS OF THE GOAT COOKOFF ARE ONLY ELIGIBLE TO ENTER THE SUPER BOWL DIVISION. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE REGULAR DIVISION OF THE COOKOFF. IN ADDITION, EACH TEAM WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO SUBMIT ONE GOAT ENTRY PER HEAD CHEF.
You will be able to purchase additional halves of goat if you’d like, but each head chef will only have ONE tray to submit their entry to the judges.
Open campsites are highlighted on the event map. Please select your primary campsite and add any additional items at the time of checkout, such as early arrival, additional categories, and wristbands. You cannot add these later after completing your online registration.
If you plan to arrive on Wednesday or Thursday, a $ 20 per-night, per-spot fee needs to be selected on your online registration if you plan to stay in Richards Park before Friday. The earliest you may arrive to set up in Richards Park is Wednesday, August 30th. Your registration fee includes an overnight stay in Richards Park from Friday, September 1st, until Monday, September 4th, so no additional fee is required. If you plan to arrive on Friday. In order to effectively monitor early arrivals, this fee must be paid even if you are only setting up trailers and/or dropping off cooking rigs.
